The Coronavirus pandemic has had a profound effect on UK society. People have been acknowledging the work done by key workers, especially NHS staff, in an unprecedented way since the first lockdown began in March 2020. In addition, there has also been a resurgence of community and neighbourhood support groups as well as families coming together to support their most vulnerable or sick.

Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) wanted to thank its own carers for their contribution to the lives of the elderly and veterans in its care homes but also wanted to give the UK population a chance to say “thank you” to whoever deserved it as well.

Thank you, Carers

2020

ABOUT US.

RBLI asked We Make. You Think to create a design that would be used in a series of awards for their carers but could also be incorporated into a merchandise range for sale to the public.

The design that We Make. You Think created incorporated three iconic images, all extremely appropriate in 2020; a rainbow, a face mask, and an original photograph of Florence Nightingale. Florence Nightingale, of course, was the founder of modern nursing. Not only did she embody all the positive caring virtues RBLI wished the nation to celebrate but 2020 was also the 200th anniversary of her birth.
